WCHS THEATRE DEPARTMENT ALUMNI SET TO START IN NEW ABC DRAMA
Tonatiuh will play Antonio Sandoval in the new ABC drama The Promise Land co staring with John Ortiz. “Tonatiuh is maybe best known for his major recurring role as Marcos on all three seasons of Starz’s Vida. He stars in the indie feature Drunk Bus, alongside Charlie Tahan and Kara Hayward, which premiered virtually at the 2020 SxSW film festival. He’s also set to recur in Peacock’s Angelyne alongside Emmy Rossum, who plays the title character.” (Denise Petski, Deadline). We here at West Covina High School best know Tonatiuh as a bright, talented energetic human being who is a positive light to all who know him. During his time at WCHS he was heavily involved in the theatre department as the thespian club president, cast member in various productions, and a passionate leader to his classmates. Tona took advantage of the theatre program as well as all of the activities offered at our comprehensive high school. He was involved in class council, a passionate learner of political science and was even crowned Prom King. Tonatiuh continues to volunteer his time and advice to the upcoming artists here at West Covina High. We are so proud of all of Tonatiuh’s accomplishment and look forward to many more to come.
