Kana Croissant
Performing Arts Academy Accompanist
Kana Croissant is a professional musician who has, over the course of her career, been associated with several schools, musical productions, and music groups in Southern California. Originally from Nagano, Japan, Kana gained her musical skills and knowledge from various music institutes and private instructors in Nagano and Tokyo: Michiko Takei (Classical piano), Mar (Jazz piano), Yuichi Narumi (Voice), Henry Midorikawa (Jazz vocal and theory). In 2010, Kana moved to LA and continued her education with Citrus College and Azusa Pacific University in CA with many professors including Gino Munoz, Alan Waddington, Robert Slack, Catherine Ireland (Voice), Cory Hirsch (Piano), J.Michael O'Neal (Jazz piano), and Mark Gasbarro (Piano).
Kana has worked for several schools and colleges including California School of the Arts San Gabriel Valley and Santa Ana College as an accompanist. Alongside this, she has worked as a music director, a pit orchestra pianist, and a conductor in many local theater and school productions throughout Southern California.
Kana has already been a part of many productions here at West Covina High School, including How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Mamma Mia, and The Choral Department’s 2022 POPs Concert. She is beyond excited to officially be joining the West Covina High School Choral Department, Performing Arts Academy, and Musical Theatre Department as their full time accompanist!
